Mission
The mission of the PASS Program is to provide academic core and elective course work that is aligned with California State Content Standards and Frameworks, and to promote critical thinking opportunities through dynamic and interactive assignments. Students are expected to succeed, to improve their self confidence and to receive necessary credits toward graduation. They are encouraged to become lifelong learners who are prepared to meet the challenges of the global economy and the changing demands of the Information Age workplace.
Any student enrolled in any high school district in California may enroll in PASS courses in order to make up credit deficiencies. In accordance with the California Department of Education, PASS courses are revised to meet California State Content Standards and Frameworks to establish high expectations of the participants.
Participation in the PASS Program must be supervised by certificated teachers, counselors or any other credentialed school personnel. The philosophical construct which drives the efforts of the program is student centered and structured to provide meaningful educational experiences that encourage problem solving and higher order thinking skills.
All students have the capacity to learn and deserve a quality education which empowers them to become productive and successful adults. Migrant secondary students contribute unique experiences and a rich cultural diversity to the community in which they live.
