Common Questions about Issuing Credit

Graduation for our school is next week.  When is the PASS Program's deadline for accepting tests and issuing credit?

The PASS Program does not set any such deadlines.  We will accept exams throughout the year.  Graduation deadlines are to be determined by each school.   To ensure that we issue course credit in time for graduation, it is recommended that you send exams to the PASS Program at least one to two weeks prior to the graduation deadline in order to mail an official transcript to the registrar. In addition, plan for the time it takes the registrar to input the student’s grades into the school’s computer system.

Our school registrar's office previously received a two-credit, partial transcript for a student who took English 1A.  We recently received a three-credit, partial transcript for the same course.  Is this three additional credits or three total credits?

All partial credit transcripts issued by the PASS Program represent total credits completed at the time of printing.  Therefore, the most recently issued partial transcript document is the most accurate.  To help minimize confusion for your school’s registrar, it is recommended that a partial transcript is requested when the student does not need any additonal units.

What is the difference between a PASS Grade Report and an PASS Program Official Transcript?

A PASS Grade Report is essentially a daily progress report of the student exam results.  The report is generated each day exams are recorded. It is an unofficial document which has been designed to assist the PASS Contact Person in tracking student's progress; it is not intended to be given to school registrars to issue credit.  In contrast, A PASS Program official transcript is an official document in which course credit is issued.  It can only be mailed directly to a school’s registrar.  When a course is successfully completed, a five-credit transcript is automatically generated.  If only a partial transcript is needed, then the school’s PASS Contact Person must request it.
