Exam Count |
||||||||||||
Explanation of the Exam CountThe Policy of the California PASS Program is to allow students one retake in case the exam is failed. The testing instrument is not for diagnostic purposes. When a teacher approves an exam for a student, it defaults to 10 minutes (this can be changed at the teachers discretion). This is the amount of time the student has to begin taking the exam before the approval expires. If the student does not begin taking the exam it will be closed and does not count as a take or retake in accordance with exam policy. If the student is disconnected from the exam for any reason the student will have the opportunity to resume the exam upon re-entry into the system without any questions lost. A student cannot perform any tasks within Cyber High 2 while an exam is in progress. To navigate out of an exam without finishing the exam would require the student to click on the Quit Exam button (see the image below). The student is notified that if they choose to quit the exam it will count against their retake limit.
It is imperative that the teacher check the exam method (PASS for paper curriculum) or (Cyber High for electronic curriculum) and the course and unit before approving an exam. Likewise, students should be notified that they must verify the correct course and unit in the Exams tab before starting it. When a student completes a course with a grade of 60% or higher, a five-credit transcript that is sent to the school's registrar. Official transcripts cannot be faxed or e-mailed, the document is sent via US Postal Service, (see Issuing Credits).
